Hey everyone. So its our last days in Bangkok and were a little sad. This country has been so wicked to us. (except for a few hiccups, but thats bound to happen anywhere! )
We have shopped our little hearts out. Vlad has definitely won the contest. They fashion here is so much better than in Canada. He went all out and i dont blame him!! (im very happy with his purchases, he looks awesome!) I didnt do so poorly myself!!
So last thoughts of Asia:
We are sooo happy that we came here. Its been really amazing to get out into the world and see what other people live like. It makes you appreciate what you have and where you came from so much more. And seeing a different religion and food and colour of people... everything has just been so wonderful. It was such a pleasure to quit our jobs and just GO! I wanted to badly to get the heck out of Canada and I would have regretted it if we backed out. It makes you really believe in yourself and what you can accomplish (anything really!!) At first, all of these doubts plague your mind. How you will get around, how you will live, eat, sleep etc, but once you get past the jet lag and things become clearer (like the view of the beach) it all just makes sense. Foggy and sticky and hot, it all makes sense why you made the move to trapse around another country with not knowing the language and not knowing anyone, in what seems, the whole world!! But we have really felt like we did Thailand RIGHT. There are other places we want to see, but we have so much time and so much more confidence about travelling.
Its all coming to a quick end, and we are very excited to welcome feta, souvlaki, and more beaches as our tans are fading SO FAST!! It almost looks as if we never were in Thailand for two months!!EEK!~
So yeah, all is well with us. bye bye to the land of smiles!!
Love Mia...

Hallo once more, our kidolinos...

I'm so glad for both of you, that this trip turned out to be such a wonderful experience of learning and appreciation for other cultures and traditions... The confidence in yourselves and your abilities to cope and adept, will surely last you a lifetime....

We had our get together last night with the Shepherds, and Marika and Gavin's family, for a barbeque treat, and it all went great.... Stan the BACKOE-MAN took little Even for a ride in the Big Machine, and you can only imagine the excitement...
Recently we've had a bit of rain and cooling down in temperature, which is just fine for us Vancouverites...
I'm looking forward to hearing about your first impressions once in Greece....so keep us posted and more pictures please....
Maria tell me please, what's happening with our son and his shopping addiction??? He's turning more and more into his mother....That could definately spell problems in the future... I should know....
It's time to let you go...Vlad give me a call as soon as you can...Tomorrow if possible, because we won't be home until Thursday next week from Tulameen....
LOVE YOU BOTH.... TAKE CARE
MOM, DAD AND MICHAEL....

Hey kiddos,
This is what life is all about, experience, exploration, self-discovery, appreciatiation, acceptance of different cultures, people and different ways of life. Take away from this experience the understanding that nothing can stand in one's way if the truly desire to do something.
I am so proud of you two for sticking it out, being there for each other with few battle scars and a deeper connection. Life holds many twists and turns and I think you guys can do....but put on your seat belts cause life is a bumpy ride.
Vlad, thanks for looking after my little girl. I'm glad she got to share this exeperience with you.
love you guys.

Say goodbye to the Bangkok chickboys!

And all the other wonderful sights and sounds of that amazing country. Well done to both of you for doing it right and really enjoying your time.

You know what time it is? It's SOUVLAKI TIME (cue bazouki (sp?) music..)!!

I wish you both safe passage to Greece and I can't wait to hear about your upcoming adventures there too.

In the meantime, I am off with the M.I.L. and Matt to Princeton/Tulameen tomorrow so here's hoping we have a decent time. The weather is finally supposed to be nice, so I hope to finally get a bit of colour on this pasty whiteness that is my bod. Matt's legs need some help too, they're a right blinder..

I am just so glad that I am away from the Spa for a little while. Those women are driving me flippin mad they are. Mia - you know what I'm talking about. Caroline's having a bring your own booze, meat and side dish bbq at her house in a few weeks and there is no part of me that wants to go. In fact, nobody really wants to go - and can you blame them? I mean, what is the point of having people over if you're not going provide anything but a chair and some fire to cook your meal with? And she's not even a particularly nice person, so how do we find ourselves in these kind of situations, I ask you?

See. Aren't you even more glad now that you are where you are? I think I need to quit and join you guys in Greece. Booyah!

Okay - I'm off to bed here. Love you both, jealous of you, hate my job, blah, blah, blah kath x
