Hello from Bangkok once again!

We had a busy day today.. spent the morning travelling and now we have left Phuket and made our way back to the capital Bangkok. And MAN did it start with a BANG!

The flight was very good.. took us a while to get to the airport, but once we did it was smooth sailing. Much nicer to get to Bangkok in an hour as opposed to 12 by train. In fact, we would have had to drive by bus to Surat Thani and THEN train, which would have taken wayyyyyyyyy too long. So we paid the money and made it here in a flash.

Upon arriving, we took the 29 Bus into town to find a place to stay. We found a charming little guest house (pretty cheap @ 400b/12CAN a night) and plan to stay for a couple of nights while we really do Bangkok the way we should. We're right across the road from the ominous Siam Square and MBK mall. It's really hot here at the moment, and thank heavens we have a room with A/C yet again. I dunno how these Thais do it without it!

So as the day progressed, we simply could not contain our excitement to get back in the mall and grab some grub. The food court is sensational! They have Hong Kong Cuisine, Indian, Thai, Mexican, Italian, you name it.. all for dirt cheap! I have to take some shots in this mall the next time we find ourselves wandering aimlessly around.. it's cavernous.
After we grabbed some food, we found our way to the (duh duh DUN) Cell phone floor. I will be the first to admit, I'm not the biggest cell phone fanatic out there.. in fact I find it kinda weird how people are so gaga over them, and how they can bury their head into a screen that's this big [_____________].. but now my friends.. I beleive I understand a bit more.

As mentioned in my last post, I wanted to introduce you to my new phone the Samsung d820.. I wanted it, and now I DO HAVE IT!!!! YESSSSSSSS!!!!! This phone is KILLA. I got it 2nd hand, and saved quite a bit off of it.. its visibly used, but works perfectly, and seeing as how good of a price I got on a very new model phone, I'm quite excited. Mp3, Video, Pictures, 1.3m camera, Bluetooth.. man the works.. and its so purdy and slidy and black... DAH I wanna use it right now!
Anyway, so now we're on the hunt for Mia's phone the 6270.. also a very nice phone. Not quite as slim as the one I bought, but Mia has been branded by Nokia so she can't resist clearly. I don't blame her, this phone also totally rocks and she's very excited to make the purchase. She will be trying to get hers new since 2nd hand for her is not an option. She talked one guys price down a fair bit.. we're probably going to go and pick it up from him tomorrow maybe for even cheaper.

That said, now that we're here in Bangkok with a place to stay, we'll be able to really see the sights. We're very excited as this city has TONS of history, and its time to really fill up the memory in my camera. Getting around the city is pretty difficult actually, because the traffic is a zoo ALL THE TIME. I don't understand how a city of this size can have next to no traffic regulations.. no visible crosswalks, or very few at least.. not that they matter.. people would run you over and drive off either way I'm sure.
Still though, there is lots to do here and we're glad that we came since we are more prepared to tackle it now. We're also very eager to move on to Luang Prabang as its a lot slower and we'll be able to rent bicycles and ride around the small nit city. *sigh* life is rough.

Anyways, that's all we have to say for now.. hope everyone is doing aight, and we'll continue updating as we have been. Moms, we'll call in a couple days, and to everyone else, hope you're all good and thank you for your comments.
