Ahoy hoy!
How ya'll doin?!?!
We're so super! Thanks for asking..
some more pics for you all.. with commentary this time.. BOOYAH

So these photos are obviously just somee flowers that Maria found.. pretty cool foliage in this neck of the woods ;) The smell eminating from these flowers is a sweet melange of fruity and spicy aroma that makes you smile.

We took a trip one day to explore the Island and find all of the wats. Some were pretty hidden away and though there are many of them, we just couldn't get to see them all. We are still going to stay on Samui though, and we're hoping to see some more before we leave.
The first photos are of the Big Buddah, located on the North Eastern tip of Ko Samui, right at the top of a hill. Naturally, we were quite astounded by the shear size of the statue, which sat high atop a set of well decorated stairs. As you can see, the amount of detail and intricacy in the design of the walls, and surroundings of the statues is unparalleled, and quite breath-taking.

Once we left this Wat, we found ourselves going to several other smaller Wats, hidden amongst houses and smaller temples. Some of these Wats were off of small dirt roads that made travelling to very interesting to say the least. Amazingly enough though, regardless of the surroundings, within the gates of these holy properties, the floors are immaculate, and the architecture amazing.

Also, a small shot from the more hilly part of the island. Here you can see far off into the blue horizon that we see every day from the beach at our resort.

And finally, after a long day of Wat Hunting, we felt we deserved a nice little cool off in one of Samui's several waterfalls. The Nu Muang falls has two sections. This picture is of the first section of the two, and was a wonderful place to take a dip. The surrounding were very BCish, with natural woody and stony stairs that led down to the pool. Think Lynn Valley, only tropical!
To end our night off, we hada to make our way back to Maharaja's, cuz seriously guys.. you have not had indian food the likes of this.. Plus the owner (a super cool and well scholared indian man)
decided to sit and talk with Maria and I about all sorts of stuff for the duration of the evening. It was a really neat experience to hear about the island, and humanity around this part of the world. Plus he bought us drinks.. always a good thing!
Tonight we're on our way to bed since tomorrow we'll be heading off (early) to Angthong National Marine park for a day of beach bumming, kayaking, and whether permiting, some snorkling. Should be a blast, but we'll be needing our strength.. enjoy the photos!
Toodles ;)
P.S. If anyone is wondering about an "earthquake" that has happened round here recently, fear not.. this happened down in Indonesia, and we weren't even aware that it occured until we watched the BBC..

Oh my God you guys, what fantastic pictures! I know how those flowers smell too - they have them in Hawaii and yes smiling happens loads when you get a whiff :-)
Matt and I were supposed to go and play golf with Miriam and Jerry this morning but the weather is s-h-i-t-uh. Again. I'm starting to seriously wonder what all the fuss is about people wanting to live here. Are they crazy? It rains like ALL THE TIME. You can't even book a frikken tee time at the end of May without rolling the dice. So enjoy the sun guys cause, DAMN.
Since it's like this, we've decided to go and see the X-MEN battle it out on the big screen!! So excited - I feel like I've waited ages for this movie - how was it for you guys??
In other news - an option to get you guys home from Croatia would be to fly from Cro up to London and then take a one way charter from there. Try flyzoom.com as they have great deals usually - you'd just have to find a connect from Zagreb to the UK. By the way - this is all Matt's idea as he thinks it will prolly be cheaper and also he says that if you guys want to sightsee in London, his family would be more than happy to have you stay for a few days - which is cool! His mom could come pick you up - and you guys could see Livvy and Theo again! Ooh - and Buckingham Palace, the Tate Modern, The Tower of London, have a big pint for your sistah..sigh..
B.t.w., I told Matt that I found that flight on Egyptair for you guys and he got that pained English look he gets when the news isn't particularly good. Apparently - not the classiest of airlines, ma petites. Just passing on the concern my dears...let me know what you think..
Okay - I'm going to go and make some coffee and read one of Mom's Oprah magazines because I have to live my best life at all times.
Love you guys so much - keep living it up over there and think of me munching on that delicous buttery popcorn and cheering on Dr. Jean Gray (my favourite) as she hands your ass to you on a plate.
bye - kxx
Nice stuff , wish I can get smile on my face as well 'couse rain has wash it off ..
Try German Wings as they started flying from Zagreb I beleive as well Ryan Air from Pula or Treviso Italy (close to Venice) I have Oksana flying last year to Treviso from London $80 return.
Good luck , keep safe ..
Mia and Vald,
Glad to hear you guys are taking all that the area has to offer. I'm intrigued by the culture there... everything looks so beautiful and uncomercial...a difference to doubt from burnaby. We had dinner at the Hop tonight, seemed odd knowing you werent close enough to join us for a beer. Hope you have a few beer there and think of us, as we think about you here while sipping a nice cold keiths!!
Ciao
The Kellers
Hey guys, thought I'd leave you a comment, although I may have been coerced by mia, so the decision may or may not have been deliberate on my part. How's that for a run-on? Followed by a fragment. Or two.
Anyway, that place looks awesome--I may have to follow in your printsleftbytravelswithyourfeet, aka your footsteps. I've always wanted to find out if these places exist, and to see if I'm going to be stopped like Jim Carey as Truman.
Your pictures inspired me to take a break from my season one of 24-athon and go walk outside. I got bit by a mosquito and came back inside. Apparently mother nature has it in for me; I may have relieved myself in her bush one too many times.
Take care you two!
Great site loved it alot, will come back and visit again.
